Abstract

he present study was carried out at El-Kassasin district Ismailia Governorate, Egypt to evaluate the efficiency of three entomopathogens (Heterorhabditis. bacteriophora- HP-88, Metarhizium anisopliae and Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. Kurstaki ) against of the red palm weevil, Rhynchophorus ferrugineus under laboratory and field conditions. The results revealed that Heterorhabditis bacteriophora-HP-88 was most virulent to the red palm weevil, Rhynchophorus ferrugineus under laboratory conditions. On the other hand, the activity of M. anisopliae and B thuringiensis subsp. Kurstaki against red palm weevil were low. However, field experiments indicated that H. bacteriophora-HP-88, M. anisopliae and B. thuringiensis subsp. kurstaki had no external sign of recovery from the infestation levels
