Abstract
the study aimed at investigating the irrigation behavior of WUA* members according to transtheoretial model stages and suggesting some extension activities based on the model results. A Random sample of 184 was selected from WUA' members* and data were collected through personal interview during July and August 2016. The study revealed the following results: 1- In the first model stage: 95% of farmers knew about the wrong behavior of the non-implementation of agricultural aggregates. 2- In the second model stage: 100% of the farmers knew the negative impacts of the wrong behavior regarding to both practices of nonimplementation appropriate agricultural methods and nonimplementation agricultural aggregates. 3- In the third, fourth and fifth model stages: 97.3% of the farmers behaved and sustained correctly by laser land leveling and regulating irrigation water rotation. The most important reasons explained the irrigation behavior of the farmers from their points of view were: lack of irrigation water; unavailability of early maturity varieties and insufficient knowledge about the damage resulting from wasting irrigation water or the advantages of implementation agricultural aggregates. The most important agricultural extension activities suggestions regarding to the rational use of irrigation water were organizing extension programs to the distinguish associations and implementing specialized training programs to the garfas elwestany WUA' members.
