Abstract
This study was carried out at Agricultural Zoology and Nematology Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Al-Azhar University, Nasr City, Cairo in collaboration with Biochemistry Department of Faculty of Pharmacy, Egyptian Russian University, Badr Cairo under laboratory conditions. Present work was to evaluate the food preference and efficacy of some bait pellets on albino Norway rat, Rattus norvegicus Bekenhout and albino house mouse, Mus museulus Linnaeus. Results obtained indicate that rice grains were the most preferred and consumed by both males and females of Rattus norvegicus Bekenhout followed by wheat, alfa alfa and maize grains. The total consumed grains by males and females of Rattus norvegicus Bekenhout was 149,119,72 and 24grams/5 rats of rice, wheat, alfa alfa and maize, respectively. The same observation was found of, Mus museulus Linnaeus. Except wheat grains and maize replaced their arrangement. Generally, grains were more consumed and preferred than crushed grains, plant wastes and animal organs.
