BIOLOGICAL CONTROL OF TETRANYCHUS URTICAE KOCH USING THE PHYTOSEIID MITE, EUSEMS SCUTALIS (A. - H.) ON APPLE SEEDLINGS

Abstract

The predator mite E. so/tails (k-H.) was released in April 10, 2004 and July 20, 2004 at levels (10, 20 and 30 adult per apple seedlings). At level of infestation with two-spotted spider mite T. urticae with averaged 3.23, 3.6 and 3.66 per leaf. After 190 days from first and second release the percent reduction of the mite pest averaged 62.4, 72.7 and 78.6%, respectively.
