Abstract
This study aimed to identify the prospective role of agriailtural extension in maximizing the productivity of fish aquas Lure and also the important advantages and problems of fish aquaculture at some areas in EI-Shadda, EI-Dakahleya and El‌Behaira governorates. Data were collected by questionnaire through personal interview from a sample of 145 workers at fish farms. The results of this study indicated that: The workers in fish farms see that the role of agricultural extension in this regard Is: 1. Provision of fish aquaculture pamphlets, 2. Provision of fish aquaculture innovations for workers at fish farms, 3. organizing training courses about fish aquaculture for workers at fish farms, 4. need for marketing extension in the areas of fish farms, and 5. using the extension methods and audio viwal aids in training courses. • The most Important advantages of fish aquaculture are: 1. increasing fish production, 2. jog opportunities for youth, 3. utilizing of land which are not used for agriculture, and 4. decreasing fish prices. • The problems which face fish aquaculture are: 1. fish aquaculture requires high experience, 2. marketing problems, 3. budding and management of fish farms require high costs, 4. high prices of feed, and 5. lack of fingerlings.
