A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF HOLDERS AND NON-HOLDERS OF SMALL SCALE ENTERPRISES AND ITS RELATIONSHIP WITH SOME VARIABLES AFFECTING THEIR ATTITUDES TOWARDS THESE ENTERPRISES IN MENIA GOVERERNORATE

Abstract

To achieve the research objectives, concerning male and female attitude of holders and non-holders of small scale enterprises in Menia governorate, research was conducted in the following villages: Tala, Saft Khemar, Al-Bergayia, Damsher and Hehia in Menia district (markaz), Samalout, Kabusina, Al-Tawfekiah, Al-Beho and Bani Ghani in Samalout district (markaz). Two samples were selected; first a random sample with a percentage no less than 5% of total male and female, holders of small scale enterprises from records of village banks in each village, with a total of 300 holders (M/F). The second sample was randomly chosen from rural people neighbors of previous holders with total of 300 non holders (M/F). Data were collected using personal interview questionnaire after a pre-test to insure the questionnaire reliability in achieving the research objectives, and were collected during August and September 2003. The results revealed the following: A significant variance at 0.05 was found among interviewees' attitude degrees - holders of such enterprises - towards these enterprises for male and female. A significant variance at 0.01 was found among interviewees' attitude degrees - "non - holders" of such enterprises - towards these enterprises for male and female.
