Abstract
The main objective of this study was to make a full description in relation with agricultural extension agent's job including its organization‌al dependency; local management level of its practice, job ladder promo-tions; responsibilities, authorities ; and tasks related to it. • The study population encompassed two groups of experts: academic experts who have Ph.D. in agricultural extension and work in different agricultural extension department of agricultural faculties, Agricultural extension and Rural Development Research Institute, a group of agricul-tural extension experts, executives working in the Ministry of Agricul‌ture (undersecretaries of central administrations. general organizations and their departments of the central level) with their responsibilities of transferring knowledge and recommendations to the targeted groups. - A Stratified random sample was drawn comprised about one third of the population (sample size 105) respondents with 50 respondents represented the first group. 55 respondents represented the second group. A pretest written questionnaire and personal interviews were used in collecting the study data. Frequency tables, percentage, arith-metic means, z test, and chi-square were used in analyzing the data. - It was found from the study findings that the majority of respondents' greed on the following main elements in making description related to agricultural extension agent's job: 1. Depending of the jobs organizationally to all the departments of agri-cultural administrations in districts with works focused on transferring recommendations to the targeted groups. 2. consideration of village as the basic level of job practice; 3. determination of job ladder as a standard for getting promotions in accordance with tenure and efficiency; 4. necessity of providing authorities in deputy, as a way to enable thoso agricultural extension agents to accomplish per form their job mspor.- sibilities duties successfully; 5. Different responsibilities assigned to agricultural extension agent's job were ranked. in a descending way, as: provide targeted groups with agricultural knowledge, technology, and ideas and enable them to ab-sorb them, help the targeted groups to take adoption decission of those agricultural technological recommendations; and providing farm‌ers with necessary services as a way to encourage them adopt agri‌cultural recommendation; 6. The tasks of agricultural extension agent's job that ware ranked in a descending way, as the following:
