Abstract
This study aims to define the difference between the degree of rural people attitude ( RPA ) toward community development associa-tions ( CDA ) in both Upper and Lower Egypt , determine the degree RPA Toward CDA , define the relationship between RPA toward CDAand some independent variables, determine the relative contribution of the inde‌pendent variables studed in explaining the varience in RPA toward CDA , and identify the problems facing respondents dealing with CDA and their suggestions to overcome it. This study was conducted in two governorates , Menofia in Lower Egypt and Beni Swief in Upper Egypt , one district in each governorate , and two village from each district were selected randomly . The study was carried out on a sample amounted to 400 respondents: 100 from each village. Data were collected by personal interview using a pretested questionnaire . Percentages , frequencies , T- test , Simple correlation coefficient , Chi-square , and StepWise forward multiple regression were used in analyzing the data. The main results of the study revealed that : - There was significant difference at 0.01 level between attitude toward CDA of Upper and Lower Egypt govemorates . - Most respondents ( 79.5%) had a moderate and high altitude toward CDA. - StepWise analysis revealed that 5 independent variables contributed significantly to explain the total variance in attitude toward CDA in Lower Egypt : degree of satisfaction with community services unem-ployment of educated persons , educational level , unemployment of il‌literates , self dependence in project participation, These variables ac‌count for 24%. And 3 variables contributed significantly to explain the total variance in attitude Toward CDA in Upper Egypt : degree of satis‌faction with community services , family ownership of projects self dependence in project participation , these variables account for 27% .
