Abstract
This Study aims mainly at determining rural women's utilization level of each pro-environmental technology and 01 all technologies to‌gether. as well as identifying the relationship between the rural women's utilization level of these technologis and some independent variables, fi‌nally determining to what extant each related independent variables par‌ticipate in explaining the variation in the rural women's utilization level of pro-environmental technologies. Data worn collected during the period from March to May 2000 through personal interview using pretested Questionnaire from 300 ran‌dom sample of farmer's wives horn 12 villages in 6 Governorates which were: El Mania, Beni- Suiet Et 13ehtra. Meowrm. Giza and Oalyoutia. Gov‌ernorates. Centers and Village were selected randomly. Simple correlation coefficient, step wise test. Chi. actuate, means, percentages, variance, standard deviation, variation coellicient, and skewness wore used to analyze the data of the study statistically. The results of the study revealed that: - There were thirty-five types of pro-environmental technologies utilized by rural women in the investigated areas with different levels of utiliza‌tion which were: high. middle and low. - There were lour technologies only out of the thirty-five ones included In the study utilized with high level by rural women. and took the first four ranks, these technologies were: cuhivating improved varieties of crops, building the barn far away from living places, using crops residu‌als in feeding animals, and using birds leavings as an organic manure. • There was a trend toward the low with high variation concerning the utilization level of all studied tech*!ogles together among the investi‌gated rural women. - There were Only five independent variables affected rural women's utili-zation level of the studied technologies, they affected all together by about (35.42%) the changes of dependent variable. (21.99%) of these changes returned to the degree of rural women's awarness towards the environmental issues, and (7.58%) to the degree of rural women's ex‌posure to the information resources, which reflect the importance of these two variables.
