Abstract
The efficiency of Shihh, Sorrel and Kalakh extracts against egg and adult female stages of Tetranychus arabicus at the constant temperature (25±2oC) and relative humidity (65±5%) was studied. Bata showed that the toxicity index of shihh was the most toxic extract against egg and adult female stages followed by Sorrel and Kalakh. On the other hand, the adult females of T.arabicus were more susceptible to the three tested plant extracts than the eggs. The biological aspects of T.arabicus were more affected by Shihh than Sorrel and Kalakh extracts. After treatment, the eggs and adult females of T.arabicus with Shihh, Sorrel and Kalakh extracts (on basis of LC50 values), it was found that the average durations of life-cycle were 14.73, 13.60 and 12.13 days, respectively, in case of eggs treatment and it was 16.0,14.13 and 12.70 days, respectively, in case of adult females treatment as compared with control which averaged 11.20 days. The longevity of adult females of T.arabicus was highly effected, as it averaged 7.16, 10.20 and 12.43 days when eggs were treated with Shihh, Sorrel and Kalakh, respectively, and it averaged 7.33, 10.63 and 12.07 days when adult females were, treated with Shihh, Sorrel and Kalakh, respectively, as compared with control (13.93 days). Oviposition periods were significantly shortened after eggs and adult females were treated with plant extracts, as compared with control, while egg hatchability was not affected. The total number of deposited eggs per female was highly affected with plant extracts, it ranged between 5.26 and 36.27 eggs in case of eggs treated and it ranged between 3.67 and 28.60 eggs in case of adult females treated as compared with control which was 65.80 eggs.
