A comparison between serological and culture methods for diagnostis of Tr.foetus in cattle has been worked out . From 159 cows, only 11 serum samples were found to harbour anti-Tr.foetus antibodies by ELISA (6.9%). Samples of vaginal mucus from 12 animals were proved to be positive (7.5%) by culture method. The Three organisms were recovered from 25 mucus samples (15.7%). SDS-PAGE of Tr.foetus revealed the occurrence of 21 protein fractions with molecular weight varying from <17 KD to >130 KD.
