Abstract

During 1992, three experiments were conducted at Giza, Fayoum and Kalyobia governorates. Eight acaricides; Tedifol 24.5% EC, Ethion-T 56%, Neron 50%, Flowable Sulphur, Acargite 57%, Torque 55%, Begassus 50%, Kelthane 18.5% WP and the growth regulator Cascade 5% were tested in the field against the two-spotted spider mite, Tetranychus urticae Koch infesting cucumber plants. Although all acaricides had managed to reduce mite population in the three experiments, Tedifol 24.5% EC and Kelthane 18.5% WP at their rates of application gave the best results and could be considered as effective in eliminating the buildup of T.urticae population.
