STUDIES ON ENTERITIS IN NEWLY BORN CALVES

Abstract

Atotal of 250 diarrhoeic calves were examined virologically, bac­teriologically and serologically. Post - mortem and histopathological ex­amination were carried out on dead animals. Virological examination re­vealed infectious bovine rhinotracheitis and bovine virus diarrhoea form 24%, 10.4% respectively, while bacteriological examination showed that Salmonella species were 0.8 and E. coli was 4%. Aflatoxicosis was found in ration at 2 farms . Histopathologicaf examination revealed different types of enteritis which were more or less related to the causative agent.
