Abstract

Experimental work was done in the Agric. Res. St., Nobaria, Egypt, to investigate the effect of some trace elements on sugar beet. The compounds used were 0.3% chelated Fe, B 0.1% boric acid, Mn 0.3% manganese sulphate and Zn 0.3% zinc sulphate in separate or in combinations. Bayfolan and super Bayfolan were used as foliar fertilizers. The four trace elements were sprayed 18 and 23 weeks after planting while the two foliar fertilizers were sprayed 18 weeks after planting. The highest root and sugar yields were obtained from (Fe+B) treatment, while the lowest yields were obtained from the treatemnt which received (Mn+B). With respect to the concentratin of Fe, Mn and Zn in Sugar beet leaves, the highest concentration of Fe was obtained from the control treatment which had received Fe-41m. For Mn, the highest concentration was obtained from the treat‌ment which received (Mn+Mn), while the lowest was obtained with the treatment (Fe +Fe). For Zn, the highest concentration was that which received (Mn + mn), while the lowest was that which received super Bayfolan at the rate of 3cm/I.
