The Egyptian Journal of Agricultural Research (EJAR) publishes articles that must follow the COPE's ethical criteria (see, Committee of Publications Ethics (http://publicationethics.org/)). EJAR conforms to the highest standards of moral justice and ethics, and would also direct a legitimate audit, if necessary, on a case-by-case basis. The journal assures that duplicating or pushing a paper will not influence the editors' decision, and those researchers will be given credit for their labor and ideas. The publishing of a paper in a peer-reviewed EJAR Research and Applications Journal is an important step in the advancement of agriculture research and sustainable agroecosystems. It is a direct reflection of the author' and institutions' ability to produce high-quality content. The scientific process is supported and embodied by peer-reviewed papers. As a result, it's critical to agree on ethical norms for all parties engaged in the publication process: the author, the journal editor, the peer reviewer, the publisher, and the scientific society. Editors Roles: Editors' impartiality and honesty, editors evaluate submitted articles only in their relation to the EJAR scope, academic importance, originality, clarity, and validity of the study, independent of the authors' race, religious beliefs, nationality, gender, culture, political stance, or institutional connection. Editing and publishing choices are made solely by the editor-in-chief, who has complete power over all editorial content and publishing time and is not influenced by governmental regulations or other entities outside the journal. Privacy: Any information regarding a manuscript that has been submitted is strictly confidential. Only corresponding authors, reviewers or potential reviewers, and the publisher will get information from the editorial board. Hazardous chemicals, as well as human or animal issues: Experimental work involving humans, animals, or hazardous chemicals reported in publications must include proof of permission from the appropriate Ethical Committee of the Faculty/Institution where the study was done, as well as evidence that the subjects gave informed consent to the activity. The use of experimental animals must be done in compliance with the applicable local or national animal welfare rules, and the use of experimental animals should be limited wherever feasible, and they should not be subjected to unnecessary suffering. Authors obligations: Before submitting and publishing the study, the author should be aware of the key ethical concerns, such as plagiarism (including self-plagiarism), duplicate publication, fabricated data, authorship disagreements, copyright violations, and undeclared conflicts of interest. a. Plagiarism Plagiarism of any kind is not authorized, and if it is discovered, all stakeholders will be alerted. During the peer-review process, the editors will cross-check the similarities to other published publications against a massive database of previously published works. Articles that have been corrected will be checked again to guarantee that they do not contain any plagiarism. Self-plagiarism is defined as the use of your own work (data, words, or ideas) without adequate citation. b. Duplicate publication Articles must not have been previously published (save as an abstract or as part of a lecture or thesis) or be under consideration for publication in another journal at the time of submission. To ensure uniqueness, the text may be verified by plagiarism software. c. Fabrication of data Authors must ensure that all information in the submitted article is clear and correct. The editors of EJAR may contact the authors for more raw data. If the explanation is not sufficient, the submission will be denied and the required steps will be performed. d. Authorship disagreement The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all other co-authors have given their approval for the paper to be published in the journal. All authors named in a submitted paper must have contributed to the development of the study topic, technical design, or data gathering, analysis, and interpretation of the work presented. The journal interprets submissions to the EJAR to indicate that all of the listed authors have agreed to all of the content and that the author and co-author share responsibility. The authors also have to guarantee that their publications are submitted with their institution's consent. After submission, any changes to the authors list, such as changing the order of the authors or deleting or adding authors, must be approved by a signed letter from each author. The date of receipt and approval is formally confirmed by an acknowledgement from the editorial office. Until publication, the relevant author(s) will receive further correspondence and proof. e. Copyright infringement The manuscript's material must be original to the authors and not plagiarized from other previously published works. If any figures, tables, or data sets from formerly published content are to be reused, written permissions must be obtained throughout the submission process. f. Conflict of interest In submitted manuscripts, all authors must declare any conflicts of interest that may exist when the interpretation of results is influenced by sources of research funding or any other form of financial support, whether directly or indirectly through the provision of equipment or materials from other people or organizations. Any possible conflicts of interest in the manuscript must be declared, and if none exist, the authors must certify that there are no conflicts of interest. If a possible conflict of interest is discovered and not reported to the journal before submission, the article may be rejected or retracted. The Egyptian Knowledge Bank and the Agricultural Research Center are devoted to rigorous peer review and ethical standards in the publishing and quality of publications. The society encourages all parties engaged, including editors, authors, experts, reviewers, and the publisher, to comply with the COPE Code of Conduct, which is expected of all parties involved. EJAR is devoted to a rigorous peer-review process, as well as scientific, ethical, and quality publication standards. |
