Department of Extension Management and Training Research, Agricultural Extension and Rural Development Research Institute, Agricultural Research Center, Dokki, Giza, Egypt.
Abstract
This research aimed mainly at establishing a scale for measuring the morale of the Egyptian agricultural extensionists considering it one of requirements for the success in the extension work. The scale rationing Includes six significant dimensions which were Job Satisfaction, Job Orientation , Needs Satisfying , Group Cohesiveness , Job Consolidation, work Desire, each dimension consists of some essential indicators, each indicator was measured by two statements on continuum scale with three-dimensional, its grades (3, 2, and 1) in case of positive statement response, and (1, 2, and 3) in case of negative statement response to determining the degree of approval: (agree - agree, to some extent –disagree) respectively. Total statements amounted to 64. The consistency of the scale was tested by using simple correlation coefficient, face validity was measured through 28 of judges of the scholars of agricultural extension ,rural sociology, psychology, education, and management in faculties of agriculture ,education ,commerce, and Art in universities of Alexandria ,Kafrelshiekh ,Almansourah, and Alazhar , in addition to agricultural extension Research Institute in Cairo .five types of validity were examined: face validity, internal validity, statistical validity, logical validity, and content validity was tested using some mathematical equations and statistical agreed scientifically. The reliability of the scale has been tested in two ways, they are Split- half and Cronpach's coefficient. Depending upon the tests which have been achieved for the scale related to the validity and reliability results, the scale was considered a reliable and valid instrument to be used to measure the degree of the morale among Egyptian agricultural extensionists.
