Abstract
The main objective of this research is to study the knowledge and implementation' practices obtained from agricultural extension methods used by groundnuts improvement program in some villages of El Boostan area of EI-Delengaat District, El Behira Governorate. To accomplish this objective six specific objectives were taken into consideration. 1-To study socio-economic, and personal variables of the respondents. 2-To determine, the respondents level of knowledge which obtained from farm visits, extension meetings, and demonstration 3-To determine relation between of level knowledge of the respondents obtained farm visits, extension meetings, demonstration and some socio-economic, and personal variables of the respondents. 4-To determine of level implementation practices of the respondents of groundnuts obtained from farm visits, extension meetings, demonstration. 5-To determine the association between practices level of the respondents of groundnuts crop which they get from farm visits, extension meetings, demonstration and some social-economical, and personal variables of respondents. 6-To identify the major problems facing the production of groundnuts and recommendations to overcome them. Data were collected from 210 respondents representing 18% of the total groundnuts farmers by using an personal interview schedule in El Boostan area, El-Behira governorate. Percentages, standard divination, simple correlation, spearman correlation, multiple correlation, multiple regression were utilized as statistical methods. Research results indicated that there is a positive significant relationship between knowledge and implementation of farm practices obtained from farm visits, extension meetings, demonstration and each of the following independent variables: area cultivated with groundnuts, contacts with agricultural extension organizations, satisfaction with agricultural work, average yield of groundnuts per Faddan, exposure to mass media methods, educational level, contact with local leaders, level of aspiration, and the innovativeness, while the relation and was negative significant relationship with age. The major problems facing respondents in groundnuts production were: low production of yield, lack of irrigation water, high prices of agricultural inputs, shortage of marketing facilities. The main suggestions of the respondents to solve such problems were: increasing the irrigation water, availability of credits and loans facilities, and establishing system for cooperative marketing for the crop.
