Abstract
Potato is one of the most important export crops that the Egyptian economic policy aims to maximize the return on by increasing its exports, as it ranks first in terms of the relative importance of the value of vegetable exports, with nearly $ 195 million for the year 2021, and the research aims to identify some indicators of the export market performance of potatoes and identifying the competitive situation within the most important global markets importing Egyptian potatoes, The most important results of the research indicate that Egypt occupies the seventh place among the world’s potato exporting countries with a market share of 5.3% of the total value of global exports as an average for the period (2019-2021). Approximately 58.3% of the Egyptian potato exports, followed by the Arab Council markets by 20% as an average for the period (2019-2021). , The results of the research concluded that the Egyptian potato has a better competitive position within the Russian and Greek market compared to the competing countries within those markets, where the market share for it reached about 52.6% and 50.47% for each of them, respectively, and also has a price advantage in the Russian market less than the correct one. Compared to the general average of prices in this market, as well as the high value of the market penetration and export strength indicators for these markets compared to the competing countries
